February 2017:
Starting this year the BluArch Collection will have a new look and direction for the website, emails and social media posts.
The website will now feature my handmade designs and all remaining "Store" gift items (race cars, art glass, books, etc.) will only be available to email subscribers.
The "Store" page will only be accessible from a changing link in each email you receive. The website will not have a link to the "Store" page. Also, only subscribers will receive discounts on "Store" items and handmade pieces.
So stay connected to receive updated links and discounts.
Thanks for your support.
March 2016:
Well, the Birmingham store is now closed, but the window display lives on for a few months. Get a close-up of view of new products in the front window. Same location: 142 West Maple Rd. in downtown Birmingham. Store will not be open, but this a way for me to show you new and existing items that are on the website.
All items in the window will be available to purchase on the website.
February 2016:
On January 1, 2016, I became the new sole owner of the BluArch Collection and have decided to close the Birmingham, MI brick and mortar store to concentrate on the online presence of the BluArch. I have a passion for finding well designed products and ideas created by innovative industrial, product and graphic designers.
November 2010:
Staff: Betty Ruddy and Chuck Krause
Brother and sister team Chuck Krause and Betty Lou Ruddy opened BluArch Collection in 2010 in downtown Birmingham, Michigan, USA.
Art and design has always played a large role in their lives. Growing up in Lake Orion, Michigan in the 1950's, they lived in a home that was made unique from others around them through the modern art and furniture their parents purchased. One such favorite item being the now infamous Saarinen pedestal table and tulip chairs.
Krause, a resident of Beverly Hills, is the artist of the team. An artisan of many mediums, he has worked in wood-turning, metal working, and photography. Specializing in industrial design, he is the heart behind many of BluArch Collection's signature exclusive items.
Ruddy, a writer who now parts her time between Michigan and the East coast, says she and her brother hope to be a bridge between today's artists and the buying public. "We search out artists who put their hearts, creativity and hard work into their pieces," said Ruddy. "We hope to show what the artistic imagination can produce when personal care is put into each object."
Over the past five years of operation, BluArch Collection has become more than a great place to find art and gifts. Previous located located in downtown Birmingham, Mi, USA, we continue to amass a following of visitors from around the globe.
Our goal is to surprise and inspire, or in the words of our customers, to continue being "the store that puts a smile on your face."
Because we are a small business, at BluArch Collection we take great pride in personal customer care.
